Economist Fiorella Salazar is the new Deputy Minister of Security

The Ministry of Public Security announced on Monday that Fiorella Salazar Rojas is the new deputy minister of Public Safety, focused on the administrative route.

The entity said that Salazar has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Costa Rica and a master’s degree in project management from the University for International Cooperation of Costa Rica.

She also speaks three languages: Spanish, English, and Italian, and has more than nine years of experience in management and supervision of operations of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Costa Rica in sectors of energy, transport, citizen security, and education.

Regionally, also with the IDB, she has experience in projects such as Siepac, Mesoamerican Corridor, Plan of the Alliance for Prosperity of the Northern Triangle. She also participated in the creation and coordination of the Consultative Group of Civil Society of the IDB in Costa Rica,”
