A margay was rescued last Sunday by officers of the Public Force after several residents of Penca in Upala reported the creature was wandering the place.
After several minutes of search, the police found the cat, which had some blows.
The margay received specialized attention and will be released shortly after being handed over to a local organization that protects this type of animal.
The feline, according to experts, can only be observed in some National Parks and in biological reserves because it is in danger of extinction. It is an agile climber and jumper. It has very nocturnal habits and, occasionally, you can see it sleeping on the branches of the trees during daylight hours. It feeds on monkeys, birds, lizards and insects.
