Entrepreneurs and rural students will have the opportunity to learn about management and finance for free.
Pérez Zeledón, Quepos, and Coto Brus, are the places where the International University of San Isidro Labrador (UISIL) will hold lectures with essential issues for the development of small businesses.
The activity, called “noches empresariales” (Business Nights), seeks to create spaces for discussion and preparation, in order to improve the performance of both emerging and already established companies in the region.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy Industry and Commerce (MEIC), by 2014 the total of medium and small companies in Costa Rica was more than 31 thousand.
Near 72.6% were SMEs with less than 15 employees and with the lowest sales and assets.
Carlos Cortés, president of the educational institution, commented that the trainings are made by professionals in financial, administrative, and management matters. Strategic management, marketing and economics are some of the topics to be discussed.
The activities started on Wednesday and will last until next November. The dates will be announced through the website or the Facebook page of the UISIL.
