The exchange rate continues to rise and touches new maximum figures, both in the Foreign Currency Market (Monex), and in the banks.
At 11:30 am this Tuesday, an hour and a half after the closing of the day of transactions in the wholesale market, the average was ¢608.94 colones, and some transactions even closed at ¢610.29.
The banks reported their exchange rate in a range between ¢ 611 and ¢ 613.
Since last September the exchange rate has shown a rising trend, amid uncertainty about the future of the tax reform.
According to the Central Bank, the pressure on the exchange rate observed in September and October is consistent with a lower availability of foreign currency in the Costa Rican market.
