A group of six students from the National University of Costa Rica (UNA) reported the destruction of their photographic exhibition on trans people, which they placed in this school as part of a project. They believe this was an act of discrimination.
In the images some trans people from Costa Rica are seen posing for the photographer Ariela Muñoz. Among them is Daya Hernández, recognized for her social work and more recently for her nomination as a legislator candidate.
Of the 10 photographs at least four were on the ground and another 2 were found wrinkled along the campus, located in Heredia. One of the images is still missing.
Andrea Campos, a student of Arts and Visual Communication at UNA, and member of the group, explained that the sample of photographs is part of a project that aims to make visible the problems of this population: hatred, discrimination, unemployment, disinformation and violation of human rights.
