As the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica (ICRC) did in previous days, the Chamber of Exporters of Costa Rica (CADEXCO) delivered a missive to the Constitutional Court against the possible increase of 72% in gas and 35% in transports because it would negatively affect enterprises, especially root crops and tubers producers.
Laura Bonilla, president of CADEXCO, stated that a 72% increase in liquefied gas rate is out of proportion and it has a negative impact in small and large businesses, causing a worse impact on companies exporting roots and tubers, as well as on those located in rural areas.
CADEXCO considers that a huge increase in these fuels would jeopardize the stability of 2,444 exporting companies.
Minister of Communications, Mauricio Herrera, promised to keep the decision made in December and not to allow the increase.
