The final approval of the national budget for next year is causing doubts amidst uncertainty.
The proposal that is on the table is the majority’s affirmative opinion that was automatically approved on Sunday, November 27th, which could not be voted by the breaking of the minimum quorum that occurred that day.
The Budget is endorsed by the Committee on Financial Affairs by Liberación Nacional Party (PLN) and Unidad social Cristiana (PUSC) and it includes cuts of around 12 billion Colones and the redistribution of 47 billion Colones from the National Patronage Of Children (PANI) to the Ministry of Public Security.
Franklin Corella, from Acción Ciudadana Party (PAC), admitted that there is uncertainty as to whether or not the budget presented will receive the necessary votes to be approved.
And, according to Corella’s criteria, if the budget under discussion is rejected, the original project sent by the Executive Power, amounting to ¢ 8.9 billion, should be approved.
