Finance Ministry warns the public about phone fraud

The Ministry of Finance reported that in recent days unscrupulous people have been requesting information, via telephone, regarding the electronic invoicing process, on behalf of the General Directorate of Taxation.

The Directorate informs the population that this unit is not requesting data of any kind through this channel, nor passwords or personal information to access the systems.

The institution indicated that if the information of any user is required, the technical staff, duly identified, supported by the current legislation and from the work centers, will carry out the requirement in an official manner.

The authorities urge the population to make use of the electronic or telephone means of the Ministry of Finance if they receive this type of calls with dubious offers.

To file complaints send an email at contraloria@hacienda.go.cr, or call 2539-4220, 2284-5377 or 2547-4592.
