At 8:20 a.m. on Sunday the Fire Department received the warning about a fire at Cerro Bebedero in Escazú. Immediately, the units went to the site. They arrived at 8:55 a.m.
There are two hectares that are being affected by the fire. After almost five hours the firefighters continued working in the place to control and extinguish the fire. Apparently, the flames did not spread beyond that terrain. It is ruled out that it is a forest fire, which was the initial hypothesis.
According to the data of the Fire Department, in 2018 there have already been 5,712 fire emergencies, most of which have occurred in bushels, or burning waste and others.
There have also been 271 structural fires and 143 incidents of fire in vehicles.
