On Sunday evening, the Fire Department reported that more than 75% of the forest fire affecting Bolsón in Turrúbares had already been controlled.
About 50 firefighters, including Paramedics, Forest Fire Units and MINAE units, aswell as volunteer staff from the University of Costa Rica (UCR), were working on the site since morning hours to control the fire.
This Sunday, it was reported that 1,300 hectares were already affected by the fire, which started for burning a pasture.
With the advent of the dry season this type of emergencies double. Therefore, emergency bodies call for prevention.
