Fired indigenous have gone to Sixaola Courts

In Limón, 150 indigenous, mostly Bribri and Costa Rican and Panamanian Guaymí indigenous, went from Bribri to Sixaola Courts, where a trial is taking place due to the dismissal of company Del Monte’s employees. The incident happened 3 years ago.

Some years ago, the company for which they worked fired many employees, most of them, if not all of them, were Panamanians Guaymí indigenous,

declared Commissioner Rafael Ángel Araya, Regional Director of Public Security in Limón.

According to the authorities, at the moment, there is a hearing. Protesters are present. They are peaceful, everything is under control, they have not closed any street, they are just waiting for a resolution.
