Firefighters try to control fire in indigenous area

Since Saturday, officials of the Fire Department try to control a fire in an indigenous area in order to prevent it from becoming a forest fire in Chirripó de Turrialba.

Josué Lara, spokesman of the entity explained there are around eight square kilometers of flame-engulfed land which threatens four villages of the indigenous area Gloriñac, on the left bank of the Chirripó River.

This Sunday, at 4:20 a.m. five units of double traction and logistics units went towards the sector Grano de Oro, along with 20 firefighters to start the work of control and extinction of fire.
