CIT Vocational Technical College (Quality Innovation and Technology), is the first private technical high school in Costa Rica. The school has opened it doors at the Complejo Educativo Bilingüe Nueva Esperanza, after an initial ¢500 million ($1 million) investment in equipment, infrastructure and staffing.
A total of 37 students have started in a software development program, and school plans to offer up to ten technical careers in the near future. Curriculum is bilingual: 60 percent in English and 40 percent in Spanish. In addition, Mandarin and Portuguese classes are given to all students.
As a private institution, students are charged a course enrollment fee of ¢120,000, a monthly fee of ¢140,000 and a fee of ¢60,000 per year for materials and technology.
