The Fishery Costa Rican Federation, along with Gray Fish Tag Research (GFTR) want to promote an approach between the fishery and the scientific sector in order to know about the management and conservation of marine species.
As consequence, they are giving scholarships to university students from public and private institutions to develop researches in biology and ecology areas.
There are already three students who have received this benefit. In the coming months, they will focus on the food webs of large pelagic species. They will use the stable isotopes’ technique. In addition, they will research on the genetic connectivity of the species caught in recreational fishing.
