Flights to the US operate normally in Juan Santamaría

The snowstorm that affected the east coast of the United States, caused the suspension of around two thousand flights in that country. In spite of this event, Juan Santamaría Airport reported that its services are proceeding normally and that airlines continue to make flights to this destination.

In the face of any natural event, it is always the airline’s decision whether or not to maintain its flights. At Juan Santamaría, the operation remains normal,”

said Josue Campos, an airport official.

In the North American country, the greater affectation has occurred in the city of New York, where the National Meteorological Service foresees an accumulation of 20 to 33 centimeters of snow.

On Wednesday 52% of the flights that had to leave the Newark airport in New Jersey were canceled, as well as 54% of the flights at La Guardia airport, and 42% at John F. Kennedy airport in New York. Other sites that have been affected are Boston, Philadelphia, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Local authorities expect the storm to end on Wednesday night or Thursday.
