At least four free classical music concerts can be enjoyed during the month of August when the 27th edition of the Credomatic Music Festival is held throughout the country.
The festival is expected to involve more than 50 local and international artists. The Lithuanian and Barcelona orchestras stand out among the groups that will participate in the concerts between August 5th and 27th in 24 stages.
On August 12th the gala concert will be held at the National Theater from 8 p.m.
Free concerts will be held in the Basilica of the Angels, the Church of Soledad and the Parish of San Ramon.
The first free concert will be in San Ramón, on August 1th at the Parish Temple at 7 p.m. Sesquialtera and Evoé groups will offer a show of old Iberian-American music and Sephardic and Flemish songs, respectively.
On August 12th, another concert will be held in Cartago, at the Basilica of the Angels at 7 p.m. Donald Meineke (organ) and Jolle Greenleaf (soprano) will perform there. They are expected to play music by Bach, Purcell, Mozart, Frescobaldi and others.
On August 19th, Meineke will perform again at the Basilica of the Angels at 7 p.m. with a repertoire of Bruhns, Dupré, Whitlock and Bach.
Finally, on August 25th at 7 p.m. the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra will perform at the Church Soledad at 7 p.m . In this event, David Geringas will also participate in a cello presentation of pieces by Vivaldi, Mozart, Schubert and Chaikovsky.
