Fugitive wanted by the FBI for 20 years was arrested in Escazú

A man who was wanted by the FBI for more than 20 years was captured while riding in a taxi in Escazu. The subject has pending charges with the US authorities for fraud in the states of Michigan and Oregon.

The arrest was executed by the Municipal Police of Escazú, after being informed of the presence of the subject by the Locations Section of the Judicial Investigation Agency. The Municipal Police of Escazú released a video showing the capture of the man who had international arrest warrants issued by Interpol.

The subject is of Greek origin and also faces harges for scams with the use of a false document in properties before the Prosecutor’s Office of Cartago.

The officers approached him in such a way that they did not raise suspicions which reduced to zero the possibility of escape or bodyguard intervention,”

said the Escazú Municipal Police.
