Several gas stations in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) reported shortages on Monday due to the high demand of drivers who have come to fill the tanks of their vehicles.
The press made a tour and found that four gas stations in Guadeloupe are closed for lack of liquid, as well as those located in Barrio Escalante and Tibás.
The residents of San Joaquín de Flores in Heredia also report shortages in the sector.
In other gas stations in the central town of San José the queues are long, as drivers fear there’s isn’t much left.
The shortage occurs because the tankers that transport the material are taking up to 24 hours in the process of loading and moving to the stations, a routine that under normal conditions should not take more than six hours.
