Gas stations report increase in sales due to fear caused by strike call

Over the weekend, the gas stations in the metropolitan area reported an increase in fuel sales due to drivers’ fear of a possible shortage caused by the national strike scheduled for Monday.

The heads of the stations claimed sales increased in Tres Ríos, Moravia, and Pavas, and there were even queues. In other stations, several people chose to carry fuel in jars.

RECOPE extended the sale schedule to the weekends in all the distribution facilities, so that gas stations are supplied and able to provide good service to the population.

RECOPE has enough reserves for the timely supply of its products, and it’s committed to continue providing the service. We urge the population to remain calm and not store fuel at home or businesses, as this risks security for people and property,”

reported the entity.
