With the clear aim of integrating minors within the educational system and eliminating child labor, the government increased the budget for education in 375 million colones for 2017.
This money, to be disbursed by the Fund for Social Development and Family Allowances (FODESAF) will be delivered through subsidies for those under 18 who are in areas of social risk.
The agreement was signed this afternoon by the Ministry of Labor and the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS), through the coordinated efforts by the Presidential Social Council.

Labor Minister, Carlos Alvarado, praised the project and said that these actions are part of the route the executive is taking to improve the quality of life of Costa Ricans.
