Government will invest more in education infrastructure

Minister of Education Sonia Marta Mora and President of the Republic Luis Guillermo Solís, revealed, on national broadcast on T.V., the goals in education infrastructure for 2017: it is intended to invest 128,000 million colones.

In the budget 2017, which was presented to legislators a few days ago, the MEP would get a 28.7% of national resources.

Government officials stressed that they found a lag in school infrastructure and therefore they proposed to change the management model and to work more closely with the regional boards.

The school infrastructure is not everything in education, but it is a very important element. Of course, teachers and study programs matter, but decent infrastructure reminds students what they deserve,

declared Mora.

Solís stressed, as he usually does when he inaugurates a school, that the investment is not a gift from the government, but a way of giving back to people what they have paid in taxes.
