City Council of Carrillo voted and now supports Guacamaya Beach reopening.
The beach, located in Sardinal, is closed and it even has a gate in its entry, so people and tourists cannot enter. This has been the situation since 2006 when Costa Esmeralda Company and associates restrained access to the beach. However, some weeks ago, yhe neighbors decided to go to the city council and demand free access to the place. Carlos Alberto Chanto, supported by the people, presented the motion and stated
“the council has to accept that beaches belong to Costa Ricans. No one has the right deny the access. We’ll get rid of that gate.”
