More than 2,100 homes in Guanacaste will benefit from clean energy thanks to the new Juanilama Solar Park.
The park located in Belén de Carrillo, Guanacaste, comprises five hectares of an estate with 15 456 photovoltaic panels, owned by Coopeguanacaste, RL, which will generate 9 Gigawatts (GWH) of energy per year.
Coopeguanacaste is proud to promote power generation that will benefit thousands of homes and industries through the use of a renewable source,”
said Miguel Gómez Corea, General Manager of the cooperative.
The operation of the Juanilama Solar Park will achieve a reduction of about 1,500 tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) per year, which is equivalent to planting 5,350 trees.
Another important aspect is that the creation of the park produced a large number of jobs, half of which belong to neighbors in the area.
In addition, the operation of the park will enable people with the technical knowledge that will enable them to access jobs related to the generation of electric energy.
