The fall of hailstones on Monday afternoon was due to several climatic factors, according to the
National Meteorological Institute (IMN).
In sectors such as La Uruca and Pavas, the fall of hailstones was reported and shared by users of of social networks.
Gabriela Chinchilla, a meteorologist, explained that there were some elements that influenced the phenomenon, such as very high temperatures in Central Valley: 29° C (3 to 4 degrees over the regular temperature), the 24th tropical wave passing through the north of the country and low pressure facing the Pacific Ocean which generates humidity.
