Half a million vehicle owners have already paid the mark from 2014 to INS.
Owners of 508,000 vehicles (45 percent) have paid circulation rights for 2014, according to the National Insurance Institute (INS). The total amount collected is 78 billion colones ($185.2 million), of which 20 percent goes to INS, 70 percent for the Ministry of Finance, 6 percent for the Road Safety Council (COSEVI) and 6 percent for other institutions. Vehicle owners have until December 31st at noon to make payment without penalty.
