The train derailment was the result of an amount of debris located on the railroad.
According to a publication on Twitter, INCOFER indicated that once again, a driver slowed the train down. This time, a truck full of debris caused the derailment.
The incident occurred at El Pirro crossing and it caused delays in Heredia to San José services and vice versa. Users reported that they had to get off the train.
