A man swam several kilometers to alert the National Coast Guard Service (SNG) of 2 fishermen whose boat sank in the North Pacific.
Without that man’s heroic actions, the authorities would have failed to rescue the men, who were in danger after strong winds capsized their boat.
The incident was reported at 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday in the vicinity of Murciélago Island, in Santa Cruz de Guanacaste.
After intense minutes of search, the fishermen were found near the fiberglass vessel.
Apparently, the men usually do handicraft fishing in that area.
The SNG identified the men as Agapito Parrales López and Santiago Cruz Carmona, both 39 and originally from Murciélago.
They looked tired, nervous, but without serious injuries. They were brought ashore and returned happy and grateful to their homes,”
cited the report by the MSP.
