Hullabaloo back in the classroom!

On Monday morning, the Buenaventura Corrales School reopened its doors to start the 2017 academic year.

This 121-year-old historic educational center is located in downtown San José and it shelters children from places like Guadalupe, Tibás, Desamparados, Paso Ancho and even Tres Ríos and Cartago.

Principal Lilliam Vargas reported that the first day of school started in orderly fashion without complications.

Vargas also used the opportunity to convey a message for the parents, reminding them of the importance of accompanying the children throughout the whole year, to provide greater security in the learning process.

There are parents who only come at the end of the year, when nothing can be done and they get angry with the teachers,”

said Vargas, who emphasized that teaching is also the parent’s job.
