Tropical Storm Earl has reached category 1 and became a hurricane on Wednesday afternoon. It is expected to affect the Central American coast.
Rebeca Morera, meteorologist from the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), said that this hurricane will not arrive in, so its influence is indirect.
Nevertheless, the IMN called for caution especially in vulnerable areas to possible landslides. Speed reduction is requested when driving in the presence of fog, strong wind gusts and heavy rain, especially in Valle Central, mountainous areas of the Caribbean, Zona Norte and the Pacific.
Hurricane Earl will arrive in the coast of Belize in the afternoon with reported winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour.
