IBM announced that it will invest $21 million in 2019 to expand the operations of its Global Security Services Center located in Costa Rica, from where security events are monitored for hundreds of clients in more than 130 countries.
This expansion makes Costa Rica’s security operations center the largest for the company in Latin America, as it will add new services in response to incidents and forensic analysis, managed detection and response, and X-Force Threat Management to hundreds of clients.
The investment also includes the physical expansion of current facilities and world-class training for local talent.
With this investment, IBM reinforces its 15-year commitment to the country by expanding the reach of our global cybersecurity capabilities driven by local talent, while providing world-class services to our customers,”
says Matías Haidbauer, Cybersecurity Services Leader at IBM Costa Rica.
The expansion will also allow the company to triple the existing capacity, meeting the high demand for cutting-edge services in cybersecurity.
