ICE Union criticized the Minister of the Environment

The Union Association of Industrial Employees of Communications and Energy (Asdeice) strongly criticized Environment Minister Carlos Manuel Rodríguez for his statements about the “deplorable financial situation of ICE.”

Due to a series of irregular events that affected the economic part of the entity, Rodriguez indicated that they will announce, through Executive President Irene Cañas, a report with the real data on the current situation of ICE. She also expressed that extraordinary measures would be taken.

Considering that said actions announced by the hierarch could be negative for the ICE payroll, the union went out to refute the position of the Executive Power.

[…]the unfortunate statements of the Minister of Environment, which we consider an attack on ICE and the national electric model,”

said César López, executive director of Asdeice.

In 2016, the ICE ended with a surplus of ¢ 30,377 million, reversing in a positive way the financial “holes” that the entity had created, however, in 2018, again, the institution had considerable losses due to bad commercial acquisitions.

For the union, it is nothing more than a persecution to generate pressure on the workers.
