ICE union will announce its decision on a general strike on Friday

ICE union leaders will announce the decision on the indefinite general strike if they receive no satisfactory response from the government on Friday.

Fabio Cháves, union leader, confirmed that on Friday morning they will be calling a press conference to publicize the actions to be taken after the “snub” they got from the government on Monday.

Cháves said that the fact that the President of the Republic and the ministers did not meet with them “will have consequences,” but declined to give any more details.

On Monday, the workers from ICE demonstrated in a two hour walk towards the Presidential House where they hoped to deliver a document to Luis Guillermo Solís, demanding that he canceled the implementation of the policy for optimizing human resource. ICE workers claim the policy threatens to dismiss 6 thousand employees. However, they failed to be served by any hierarch and were obliged to leave the document on the ground.
