According to immigration records, the period from December 14, 2013 to January 9th registered a net increase of 18,000 foreigners entering the country, as compared to the previous year. Figures represent an 8 percent increase and are dominated by U.S citizens (97,427), Nicaraguans (61,065) and Canadians (23,713).
