Impressive “flower shower” charms visitors in Jacó

By Jacob Ojeda

A natural phenomenon charmed the visitors of Jacó last week, in the Costa Rican Pacific. It was a “yellow flower shower,” as the man who recorded the video called it.

The tree will have flowers for some months, but they will fall only a few times, which melts the hearts of those who pass through route 34, the Costanera Sur, in front of the adventure park “Jacó Ropes Adventure Park”, between Jacó and Hermosa Beach.

This tree is right in front of the hotel (…) It’s only once a year that this happens, for two days. It happened a week ago. That’s why they have found photos of everyone under this tree,”

said Jacob Ojeda, park official.

In 2016 the group Padrinos Humedal Nacional Térraba Sierpe-Osa shared images and videos of the event, which quickly reached thousands of views on social networks. Now the Magical Trees Foundation receives photographs on the flowering trees as part of its annual contest, with the aim of motivating the population to appreciate this phenomenon and recognize its importance.
