Today is the World Day of Cystic Fibrosis. As a result, an informative fair is going to be held in the west side of La Merced Park. It will take place from 8 am until noon and it is organized by San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects execrine glands, making mocus abnormally thick. It difficult body functions like breathing, digestion and reproduction.
In the country, there are 100 children and 22 adults diagnosed. Most of them are treated in San Juan de Dios Hospital.
