Authorities from the National Insurance Institute (INS) confirmed that from November 1st, 2016 they will start collecting the freedom of movement for 2017 of 1,450,000 vehicles registered in the Public Register.
According to Roger Arias, head of the Solidarity Insurance from the National Insurance Institute, they hope that the Superintendence of Insurance (SUG) completes the analysis and determine the official rate amounts for this year.
The items included are:
-Compulsory Automotive Insurance (SOA).
-Contribution to Road Safety Council.
-Sales tax on SOA.
-Vehicle Property Tax.
-Violations of the Traffic Law.
-Parking meters.
-Tax for Municipalities.
-ARESEP (Buses and Taxis) rules for public transport (CTP) (Buses and Taxis)
People should pay and to do so, banks will enable a number of payment systems.
Until now, the percentage of Costa Ricans who have not paid 2016 rate is, as confirmed Arias, 5%, which is equal to 80,000 people.
Many of these cases involve people who have the vehicle registered in the public record but that do not circulate and their owners have not been disenrolled.
However, the goal is to catch up since the fine is cumulative and in the case of property tax, charged by the Ministry of Finance, the amounts are always higher.
