On Sunday, the residents of Guácima de Alajuela witnessed a surprising phenomenon for a summer afternoon.
A video shows the strong intensity of the rain and a white layer is observed on the lawn, apparently ice. However, La Guácima is not the only area in which this phenomenon is recorded. According to other reports on social networks, the same thing happened in other places in the province such as Atenas.
The Meteorological Institute confirmed that the rainy activity in Alajuela is strong and that other areas such as Grecia, Naranjo, Atenas, Ciudad Colón, Santa Ana and Puriscal could also be affected.
In the rest of the Central Valley, the rains will last until Monday, the day when the dry season is expected to return. As for the trade winds, it is expected that they will return to the country in the coming days.
