The Board of Regional Development of the Southern Zone (JUDESUR) announced that due to a financial imbalance, social programs conducted in Buenos Aires, Corredores, Coto Brus, Golfito and Osa could be affected.
Moreover, according to JUDESUR, since there are not resources, workers, who fulfill different tasks in the Duty-Free Shopping Center in Golfito, could not receive their payment. As consequence, JUDESUR stated that it could closed.
Nevertheless, Gonzalo Rojas, director of the Association of Dealers from the Duty-Free Shopping Center in Golfito (ACODELG), announced that the organization will keep working as usual.
Carlos Murillo, CEO of JUDESUR, explained that the situation in the institution has worsened in the last two months, in which incomes have been lower than expected.
Murillo is sure that the Duty-Free Shopping Center in Golfito will be highly affected since there are many economic activities that are financed by JUDESUR.
In addition, the CEO explained that there is a new law that is regulating JUDESUR. As a result, Murillo assured that they sent 10 articles to the Constitutional Chamber because it is affecting the institution. They are waiting for an answer.
