La Casa del Cuño will host the first edition of the Expo Bici.
This is an different option so that inhabitants of the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) know everything related to urban cycling.
This activity is new in Costa Rica but it has already been carried out in countries such as Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina and Colombia, and more 5,000 people have been part of it.
Andrea Gill, a spokeswoman for Expo Bici, commented that the goal is to attract different audiences. The event will take place on June 10th and June 11th.
That’s why we have different spaces. It is not only about selling bikes. There will be recreational activities and bicycle shows,
said Gill.
In face, there will also be learning activities, which are intended to attract companies that want to be more “bike-friendly”, as well as municipalities or public institutions that also want to learn about policies, infrastructure and models that can be applied to make cities safer for bicycles.
Urban bikes
The fair will also aim to open a space for urban bikes.
Costa Rica has traditionally been a mountain-biking country, but it’s hard to find city bikes, whose characteristics make them more dynamic,
explained Gill.
