The lack of dialogue between the Executive and the Legislative to deal with important national issues has been the main hurdle for the government. Thus concluded researchers from Universidad Nacional Abierta, just one day after a poll carried out by Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) showed a 60% of disapproval toward government management.
The Sociology School of UNA said that the administration of the president Luis Guillermo Solís is trapped in doubts and conflicts. Among the main topics that should be dealt quickly are the trade unions complaints, debate on sexual diversity, the state’ secularity, and the sexual and reproductive rights.
The analisis states that the government for the last two years has been marked by constant change and unstability, which even has provoked ministers changing, as in the case of Culture, Tourism and more recently, Labor.
On the fiscal subject, Solís is blamed for opening the fiscal debate only 6 months ago, despite being a pressing situation. Besides the analysts warned is urgent to take steps to rein the public debt and to reform taxes.
The study of the Political Studies Center of UCR , shows that 35.1 percent thinks the government management is bad and 25.3 percent qualified it as very bad (60.4 percent in total). 20.7 percent considers the work of goverment is regular, only 15.3 believes is good, and 2.0 percent said is very good.
