After extensive inter-institutional work, the successful rescue of the last 150 people trapped on Route 32 was achieved, according to the report by the National Emergency Commission (CNE).
The last evacuation occurred at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Officials of the National Emergency Commission (CNE), Fire Department, Public Force, Costa Rican Red Cross, Transit Police, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT), worked from 5:30 a.m. on Sunday to save the remaining people.
Once this evacuation was completed, route 32 was closed so that the MOPT could continue with the cleaning works in that area.
