Legislator Óscar López, from the party Accesibilidad sin Exclusión (PASE), said that the National Institute for Women (INAMU) should be called “National Institute of Lesbians.”
The legislator made the statement in a speech in which he criticized the entity’s silence on cases of violence by women against men.
López also mentioned the case of Gerardo Cruz, who was allegedly killed by women, and criticized the INAMU for not addressing the matter.
In addition, the legislator questioned the use of inclusive language (male and female) and recalled that the Royal Spanish Academy said this has no grounds.
