Legislator: “There’s no money for the Treasury, but there is enough for propaganda”

Rolando González, from the National Liberation Party (PLN), criticized the government on Monday afternoon for scaring people with the liquidity crisis while spending millions of colones on an advertising campaign to improve the image of the administration and the ruling Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC).

There’s no money for the Treasury, but there is money for propaganda for the PAC and the government. There is no money for the Treasury, but there is money to make paid surveys with a United Nations agency. There is no money for the Treasury, but there is money to artificially raise a political campaign that we will always denounce,”

said González in the Legislative Plenary.

The liberationist said that the announcement made by President Luis Guillermo Solís on the crisis of liquidity also compromises the credibility of the country abroad.

He recalled that the president reiterated in his campaign and at the beginning of his administration that there was no fiscal crisis, but three years later he scares people with a crisis. He also said that the government raised public spending in the early years.
