The Legislative Assembly approved on Tuesday a project to declare the National Children’s Hospital “Dr. Carlos Sáenz Herrera” as meritorious.
The initiative, promoted by Fabricio Alvarado, from National Restoration, received 40 votes in favor during its first reading.
According to the text, that institution “has exercised a work for the public health of the underage population of the country and has represented a solid foundation for the human development of Costa Rica.”
The National Children’s Hospital was opened on May 24th, 1964. The project will have a second reading on November 28th.
