Legislators observed a minute’s silence for victims of natural disasters

September 21, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Thursday afternoon, legislators observed a minute’s silence for the fatalities of Hurricane Irma and the recent earthquakes in Mexico.

Unanimously, and with 41 votes in favor, the legislators approved four motions in that direction.

The measure of solidarity includes the peoples of San Martin, San Bartolomé, Antigua, Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the United States, affected by Hurricane Irma.

In addition, they also showed respect to the victims of the 8.2-degree earthquake that shook the Mexican Pacific on September 8th and 19th.
