Movamos Limón

On July 5th, nine students from the Caribbean headquarters of the University of Costa Rica (UCR) joined and used their talent and creativity in order to paint a large graffiti on the external walls of the Cocorí hotel, located on Bonita Beach in Limón.

The initiative was born from a campaign called “Movamos Limón”, promoted and sponsored by APM Terminals. It allows the inhabitants of the area and the authorities to take on new challenges, roles and opportunities.

The mural represents the culture, flora, and fauna of the Caribbean,”

explains Mush (Minor Calderón), renowned national graffiti artist who served as art director. The talented artist, Anthony Aranda, who calls himself Desk, was also part of this great work.

Local graffiti artist Didier Jirón also joined the project. The 22-yaer-old is self-taught and says that the opportunity to paint a mural with renowned artists was very enriching. He also assures that the experience allows to deepen the aesthetics, the style, and the stroke of this urban art.

The artistic director of the work said that

the kids were quite motivated to do other interventions. The campaign conveys a graphic message, but at the same time it encourages action.”
