Lucía Mata lost the battle

After being terribly hit by a car in Curridabat, Lucía Mata fought for her life until her last breath. However, she lost the battle and she will now be remembered as a fighter.

Juliana Espinoza said that her cousin had a cardiorespiratory failure on Tuesday and she was stabilized by doctors. However, hours later a second strike took her forever. Her heart and body had suffered greatly and she was already very weak.

Since the day of the accident, Lucia had been kept intubated and she had not awakened. Although during the first few days Lucia evolved satisfactorily, the panorama changed in recent weeks and doctors at Calderón Guardia hospital stopped giving hope to the family, who was waiting for a miracle. Last week, health authorities moved her to another room outside the Intensive Care Unit.

The 38-year-old woman is the fourth victim of the deadly outrage. That Sunday, she was riding her bike along with his friends, but they were hit by a vehicle that was traveling at high speed. Her partners died in the place. Their names were Lenín Manrique Ortiz Quesada, Pablo Enrique Alcócer Alcócer and Mario Enrique Retana Pérez.
