Material from Turrialba Volcano flies 800 meters high

The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSICORI) reports continuous eruptions from Turrialba Volcano. The ash plume has reached 800 meters high.

From 1:00 a.m. on Sunday the movement has been constant, after having a break from 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Javier Pacheco, volcanologist, reported that the wind is heading northwest. The plume is directed towards the Braulio Carrillo National Park and surroundings. But Mauricio Mora, from the National Seismological Network, reported on the official Facebook site of the institution that the ash can be dispersed in the Central Valley.

None of the two institutions have reported ashfall or smell of sulfur so far. However, it is important that you take the necessary measures if you have respiratory conditions.
