Aiming to empower the youths of Technical Professional Colleges (CTP) so that they are able to create their own companies, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC) has conducted a series of lectures, forums or discussion groups in 34 schools in the Chorotega Region, Huetar Atlántica and Brunca.
In total, the ministry has worked with 90 teachers and 1,335 young people. According to the Minister of MEIC, Welmer Ramos, they aims create a national entrepreneurial ecosystem and generate entrepreneurship for the future, so that this translates into sources of employment, self-employment and success stories that have a positive impact on the economy.
The initiative, called the School Tour of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, has been promoted by the MEIC for two years now, but the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) and the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) are also involved.
In this second half of the year, the tour will go to the southern region of the country to visit Professional Technical Colleges in Pérez Zeledón, Santa Elena de Pittier, Umberto Melloni, Sabalito, Corredores, Guaycara, Professional Technical College Carlos Manuel Vicente Castro, Puerto Jiménez and Osa, to work with young students of different specialties in the tenth and eleventh year.
