Minister for Justice and Peace: “I have to keep doing what I’m doing and I can not give in to hatred”

Minister for Justice and Peace Cecilia Sánchez has a back contraction. Her doctor has declared that “accumulated stress” has caused it. This is partly due to the constant criticism to her management, which in the last week turned into dangerous threats.

According to Sánchez, people are following her. She is sure about that and she doesn’t understand why someone is paying for that. Her concern is growing but it is not discouraging her.

Similarly, Sánchez sent to the Attorney General’s Office several images of threats she has received through Facebook. The minister said that anyone can be against her policies but she thinks that threats are crossing the line.

Many of these attacks give me more energy to say ‘I have to keep doing what I’m doing and I can not give in to hatred’. It is incredible that in our peaceful society, there are such feelings of hatred and revenge to those who are at the head of an institution,

declared Sánchez.

The minister confessed that her 85-year-old mother, is very worried about the situation, an aspect that has generated concern among her family for incitement to hatred. Similarly, magistrate Celso Gambia, son of the Minister, has expressed his concern in social networks.
